DesktopSMS - SMS Management from Your PC

Managing SMS messages on a phone can be slow, especially if you send texts frequently or in bursts. Typing on a touchscreen, searching for contacts or past conversations, and keeping messages organized takes more time than it should. DesktopSMS provides a way to read, write, and organize messages directly from your PC. There is no registration, no sharing of your data with third parties, and no cloud relay.

What is DesktopSMS?

DesktopSMS is a native Windows application for sending and receiving SMS messages through an Android phone. You can read and reply to messages, write to people who recently called you, or search through your contacts to start a new conversation.

All messages stay on your devices. The interface provides direct access to your conversation list, recent calls, and contacts.

How it Works

DesktopSMS connects to your Android device using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or LAN. Once the connection is established, your SMS messages are mirrored on your PC. You can manage conversations, schedule messages for later delivery, or send bulk messages to multiple recipients. The app also provides access to recent calls and contact search.

Multiple connection options are available for different setups. You can read more about connection types in our blog post: DesktopSMS connection types and their requirements.

Key Features

  • Read and send standard SMS messages from your desktop.
  • Read-only access for MMS messages (sending MMS is not currently supported).
  • RCS conversation reading with SMS reply capability.
  • Schedule messages for future delivery, processed on your Android device even if the PC is disconnected.
  • Send messages in bulk to multiple recipients.
  • Access your conversation list, recent calls, and contacts from the desktop client.
  • Multiple connection options (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LAN), all direct and local.

Security and Privacy

DesktopSMS processes all messages locally on your devices. No messages, contacts, or logs are sent to external servers. The only outbound communication is an optional version check from the desktop client, which transmits only the current version number. All connections between your PC and phone are direct and local.

Upgrading the App

DesktopSMS is fully functional in the free version. Upgrading removes limits on message length, recipient count, and message queue size.

More information about upgrade options, pricing, and the differences between license types is available in Upgrading DesktopSMS Free. The free version has no time limit.

Summary

DesktopSMS lets you read, write, and organize messages from your PC while keeping all data on your devices. It supports SMS, MMS reading, message scheduling, bulk sending, and multiple connection methods — all without registration or cloud services.
